EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT - GUSTAF BERGGREN, SENIOR SOLUTION SPECIALIST, ÖREBRO 🇸🇪
This is Gustaf — originally from the southern Swedish city of Helsingborg, he moved to Örebro for love. Outside of work, he enjoys working out and spending time with his fiancée, friends, and dog. ❤️ 🐶 🏋️♂️
Gustaf is a true Italy enthusiast, he loves everything from the food and wine to the cars and culture. He also has a talent for home renovations and DIY projects: recently he renovated his kitchen and even built a tiled fireplace in his new home! 🛠️ 🇮🇹
Gustaf, is building fireplaces your secret talent, or do you even have another one?
Maybe it’s not that much of a secret, but something not many people know about me — I actually won three silver medals at the European Championships in team gymnastics when I was in my 20s. I started gymnastics when I was six and continued until I was 24. 🥈🥈🥈
What advice would you give someone who starts in your role?
I’d recommend putting yourself in the customer’s shoes and really reflect on what you would expect to do in the system and which challenges you might face, because those will come up.
It is also super important to stay curious and keep learning. Ask questions — if you don’t know the answer, chances are someone else does. Team knowledge is a big asset.
And finally, allow yourself to think outside of the box. If some things cannot be solved in a standard or conventional way, there’s often a creative workaround waiting to be found.
Do you have a book that you would like recommend ? 📚
Yes! I’m currently hooked on a series by Pascal Engman, a Swedish author who mainly writes thrillers. His books often touch on real-world issues, for example terrorism, and he addresses these topics in a way that’s really informative without becoming too graphic or violent.
What are three things you always keep in your fridge ?
That would be tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and eggs. They’re just good for a lot of things.
Why did you choose to work at Younium? ✨
I actually used to work for one of Younium’s customers and I was even considered a “superuser” of the platform! So, I really got to know Younium from the customer’s perspective.
When I started looking for a new challenge, a position opened up at Younium, and Erik Forsgren, our VP of Customer Success at the time, helped me explore whether it would be a good fit. I realized that working in professional services at Younium would let me continue doing what I already enjoyed most — optimizing information flow between systems and processes — but for multiple customers instead of just one.
I also spoke with Jacqueline from the People & Culture team, and what really stood out to me was Younium’s culture. The mix of flexibility and trust but also ownership and responsibility is something I truly value. And I also really appreciated the opportunity to work fully remote while still feeling closely connect to my team.
