We're seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion Observability – Design end-to-end monitoring, alerting, and dashboards with Grafana, Azure Monitor, and Prometheus to detect, diagnose, and prevent performance issues under real-world load.
- Lead Incident Response – Triage production incidents, perform deep root-cause analysis, and implement preventative fixes and post-mortems.
- Design for Resilience – Build high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures across regions, regularly testing failover scenarios.
- Architect & Operate Azure Infrastructure – Plan, deploy, and maintain scalable compute, storage, and networking resources that keep our production workloads running smoothly.
- Own Infrastructure-as-Code – Create repeatable, auditable environments with Terraform (HCL) and champion Git-based workflows for every change.
- Run Container Platforms – Administer AKS/Docker clusters and optimise the full lifecycle of containerised applications.
- Optimise Cost & Capacity – Analyse usage patterns, right-size resources, and drive continuous cloud-cost efficiency.
- Maintain CI/CD Pipelines – Collaborate with DevOps teams to deliver reliable, low-friction releases through well-governed pipelines.
- Embed Security & Governance – Enforce Azure security baselines, compliance standards, and best practices across all environments.
Requirements:
- 5 + years of hands-on Azure engineering – building, operating, and improving production workloads.
- Observability in your DNA – practical experience instrumenting Grafana, Prometheus, and Azure Monitor/Log Analytics to turn metrics into actionable insight.
- Deep command of Azure services & architecture – from compute, storage, and networking to identity, security, and landing-zone design that aligns with Microsoft’s Well-Architected Framework.
- High-availability & scaling expertise – proven patterns for fault-tolerance, autoscaling, and multi-region resilience.
- Security-first mindset – strong grasp of network- and cloud-security principles (zero-trust, RBAC, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud) and industry-compliance best practices.
- IaC mastery with Terraform – craft reusable HCL modules, manage remote state, and enforce policy-as-code for consistent, auditable deployments.
- CI/CD savvy – comfortable designing and troubleshooting pipelines in GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tooling.
